Welcome to the website of Master Armourer Chris Dobson, formerly Master Armourer to the Royal Armouries.

Chris's approach is unique, in that he blends artistic skill with academic research to reconstruct the arms and armour of the warriors of the West, from the Iron Age, through the High Middle Ages and Renaissance, to the Baroque. He is also the leading restorer of Western armour and edged weapons. As a consultant, Chris advises private collectors, lays out museum galleries, and is available for media projects. He is Director of the International Arms and Armour Conferences.
